Three safe and effective electro-shockwave technologies form the core of Wilner Medical'
s exhaustive treatment program. These simple and completely non-invasive procedures require no post-treatment hospital stays of any kind. More than 80% of patients who have undergone shockwave therapy through Wilner Medical have experienced a significant reduction in pain and/or an improvement in mobility and function*

All three FDA-approved electro-shockwave procedures can be employed in varying degrees to successfully treat tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and heel pain (plantar fasciitis). However, other common ailments such as Achilles tendinitis, golfer'
s elbow, conditions of the knee and shoulder, and even back pain can be treated as well. Wilner Medical is fully-certified on all three electro-shockwave technologies, and can tailor treatments to best address each patient'
s individual needs. |

Wilner Medical is one of the few centers in the metropolitan area fully-certified to offer treatment on all three FDA-approved electro-shockwave therapies currently available: |

The Dornier Epos Ultra utilizes ultrasound imaging to first view and then focus in on the damaged tissue. Here, the afflicted area (usually the foot) is placed against a large, water-filled cushion. Shockwave therapy is then administered. The Dornier procedure requires a local anesthetic and only a single visit/treatment.
The Dornier Epos Ultra is FDA-approved for the treatment of plantar fasciitis (heelpain) |

Much like the preceding two treatments, here the problem area is coupled comfortably and firmly to a treatment head; shockwave intensity is selected and activated via a remote console. Treatment via the OssaTron requires a general anesthetic, and an anesthesiologist will be present during the procedure. The OssaTron treatment usually requires only a single visit, and is performed outside of the Wilner Medical offices, at any one of five conveniently located facilities in the metropolitan area.
The Ossatron is FDA-approved for treatment of both lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
* For some patients, OssaTron treatments may require pre-testing such as an EKG and/or blood work.
(Please note that on all three of the preceding procedures, an EMG (nerve test) may be required to rule out any incidental nerve involvement or disorders that may be contributing to a problem area.) |

The Sonocur utilizes low-intensity shockwaves to relieve tendon and ligament pain. First, an articulating head is placed on a particular area of the body. Fine adjustments are made so that energy can be focused as accurately and precisely as possible. A pre-set series of shock waves are then administered, with energy levels gradually increased to provide optimal therapy. Sonocur treatments usually entail three separate visits, each one a week apart. No anesthesia is required for this procedure.
The Sonocur is FDA-approved for the treatment of chronic tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) |
